Sensors & Night Vision

If you don't find the information you need on one of these pages, you can SEARCH in the bar above or RETURN to the HELP CENTRE here.

Sensors:

Your Dote Buddy Monitor has temperature and humidity sensors which will take readings of the ambient/room. Please don’t place your monitor near a heat or cooling source, such as a radiator or air conditioning unit. Please note these readings are a guide only and cannot be relied upon to be completely accurate.

For temperature and humidity, you can set an upper and lower figure to create a ‘comfort range’ for your child when indoors, in your Notification Settings. We’ll send push notifications if the reading goes outside of this comfort range.

Please note, we will disable the notifications when you choose car or stroller mode as the readings may be quite different when you’re outside.

Can users turn these back on for that session in that mode??

Night vision

In low light and at night, your Dote Buddy monitor will automatically switch to infrared light – you may hear a little click. Your video feed will be in black and white, but will still be crystal clear so you can clearly see your baby. When there is enough light, it will automatically switch the infrared night vision off and your video feed will be colour again.

Please note that if your Buddy monitor is not plugged into power, the night vision won't activate, so as to not drain the battery.
