You can add entries to your child’s diary from the Dote Diary screen by tapping the relevant tile. If you are in the ‘Insights’ area, select the ‘Diary Entry’ tab at the top.
Sleep
You can add a sleep entry in 2 ways; manually or via the timer.
Timer:
When your baby has fallen asleep, you can start the sleep timer by tapping the sleep tile and ‘start timer’. You will see the timer running and can swipe the screen down. You’ll see the sleep in progress on the Dote Diary screen. If your baby fell asleep already and you want to start the timer, you can adjust the start time and tap start.
When your baby wakes up, you can tap the sleep tile again and stop and save. If you forgot to stop the timer and left it running, from the timer screen, you can toggle to ‘add manually’ and adjust the end time before saving.
If you start the timer but don't need it, you can delete the entry instead of saving it.
Manually:
If a sleep or nap has finished or happened earlier, you can tap sleep then ‘add manually’, enter the start and end time, check the total sleep time is correct, add any notes such as how they went to sleep, and save.
Nursing
You can add a nursing or breastfeeding entry in 2 ways; manually or via the timer.
Timer:
When your baby has started nursing, you can start the timer by tapping the nursing tile and tapping which breast you have started feeding on. You will see the timer running and can swipe the screen down. You’ll see the nursing session in progress on the Dote Diary screen.
To switch side, tap the nursing tile and toggle over, then swipe down. When your baby finishes, you can tap the nursing tile again and then pause and save. You can also press pause, if baby is having a break, and restart the timer.
If you forgot and left the timer running, from the timer screen, you can toggle to ‘add manually’ and make any adjustments before saving.
If you start the timer but don't need it, you can delete the entry instead of saving it.
Manually:
Or you can add manually when the nursing session has ended by tapping the nursing tile then ‘add manually’. Enter the start and end time, adjust the amount of time on each side if you wish, check the total nursing time is correct, add any notes, and save.
Bottle
To add a bottle feed, tap the bottle tile, add the time, select which type, add the amount and any notes and save.
Diaper
To add a diaper or nappy change, tap the diaper tile, add the time, select which type, add any notes and save.
Editing entries
You can view all your latest diary entries under Insights/List. Inside the Dote Diary, tap insights at the top. You’ll automatically see all entries from the latest at the top in a list.
To edit, simply tap on an entry, adjust, then save.
You can also see some topline data on the tiles, from the current day.
